Stuff to investigate from presentations

Planning

  • Develop version of LSU comp. science's Advanced Data Structures with parallel versions of some of the algorithms to complement the serial version. Offer to do the guest lecture thing.
  • Work with Computational Science discipline scientists to create specific ugrad lectures for their majors classes
  • Become more involved with SC Education committee as an unchanging member
  • Decide which CMS LSU HPC & CCT and LONI will put their asynchronous training into.
    • Follow TG as much of the training will need to be TG compatible
    • ATutor - following NCSA's lead with CI-Tutor
    • Moodle - following other information providers
  • For July '08 develop asynchronous training on Linux, Vi, LaTeX in Moodle & Docmint. Probably will use Moodle as I will need to create certificates for completed training which means assessment.
  • Many of the activities will appear in the CCT 2009 REU should we be funded.
  • Planning on Cluster SC09 Education workshop same week of June or slightly earlier next year.
