  • Organize tours of the show floor for Education, Broadening Engagement, and Student Volunteers. Possibly on Tuesday afternoon, tour first with time afterword for them to explore. Possibly N tours with different interest areas. On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday that time slot would be for networking.
  • Badges: A large font is important for easy introductions. The education badges seemed to have large enough fonts, but most of the rest of the conference didn't. A reminder then that having readable names is important and necessary.
    • Update: This was highlighted in the SC09 meeting. Folks already knew about it. Let's still make sure that it's a detail we double-check for ourselves.
  • We need prior information from presenters about what kinds of help they need. Such things as number of student volunteers, type of technology, ... Suggest multiple reminders to each presenter about this. Is this something we can automate somehow?
  • Student competition: Get data on teams as they sign up. Grade (like age), majors, minors, courses taken. Get some feedback from coach as well. This information would ostensibly be used to tailor the questions.
    • Update: This was already known data, but got lost in the cracks.
    • ... Perhaps we should *not* collect this data: what happens if a team gets 'em all and another team claims we made it "just for them"?
  • Minor notes would be helpful, like such things as how to turn the projector off. (Reference the dell projector which lost the bulb, we think unnecessarily.)
  • Student volunteers: should we be thinking about giving feedback? Some were not-so-good, others were good. Some who were usually on-the-ball seemed to be ones we already knew, such as Dave, Charlie, and Paul's students.
