SC07:Fund raising
From SC Education
Below are a few ideas for which fund raising would benefit the program. If we want to dream, it would be wonderful if we could raise $50K.
Letter to Exhibitors
Opportunities for support
- funding student competitions/awards - high school and/or undergrad students
- funding student participation - undergrad at events
- funding K-12 teachers and students to attend from the local community (Reno in 07, Austin in 08)
- funding for participation by students and faculty from minority serving institutions
- funding for events at SCxx, or for workshops on campuses across the country
- perhaps they would fund workshops in cities in their "own back-yard"
- funding for equipment - Little-Fe
- funding for receptions, meals, poster sessions, etc
- general funding for whatever is needed
In-Kind Contributions
- volunteers as instructors (computational science applications, not sales pitches)
- volunteers as mentors
- donations of software
- loans of laptops at SC - need about 110 laptops
- internships for faculty, teachers and students
- give-aways (shirts, cups, etc.)
